Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced a short time ago today (Thursday) that he would be replacing Israel's ambassador to the United States on January 20, 2025 - the day Donald Trump is inaugurated into office.

Meanwhile, Israel's current ambassador, Michael "Mike" Herzog, will be kept in his position to work with the lame duck Biden administration until that date.

Netanyahu thanked Ambassador Herzog for his work the past three years during a "challenging war." The Prime Minister said that Herzog represented Israel honorably before the government, Congress, NGOs, the international media, and the American Jewish community.

Netanyahu has yet to name who will replace Herzog.
