Report: Mohammed Sinwar is effectively serving as the head of Hamas's military wing in Gaza, alongside a small council of senior officials in the organization.

According to a report published this evening (Monday) on "Kan 11," Palestinian sources in Gaza stated that Muhammad Sinwar, the brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar who was eliminated by the IDF, is functioning without public announcements as the head of Hamas's military wing. Along with him, a small council is functioning, which includes Izz al-Din al-Qassam, commander of the northern Gaza Strip, and Muhammad Shabana, commander of the Rafah Brigade.

It was also reported that, according to sources, the reason why Muhammad Sinwar is not replacing Deif in his position is simple – Hamas is still in a media denial space regarding Deif's assassination. Additionally, according to those sources, Mohammed Sinwar is also the most significant figure today in negotiations for a hostage deal, which is why he has become the main, though not the only, address in the Strip (Nizar Awadallah).
