Desperately trying to recruit Haredim

800 Haredi men could go to jail for ignoring IDF summons

It's highly unlikely that the IDF will ever imprison 800 Haredi men, because it would probably cause an uproar and mass protests.

The IDF sent pre-arrest warning orders to about 800 ultra-Orthodox youth who did not show up at the recruiting offices, after receiving first and second summonses.

Of the 3,000 orders that have been sent, only 7% (approximately) have been answered.

So far, the IDF has avoided enforcing the warnings calls to the ultra-Orthodox who did not report to the recruitment offices despite the orders they received after the High Court's ruling at the end of June (which obliged the state to recruit them.)
