Protests are taking place throughout Iranian cities over complaints that the government is failing its obligation to its citizens when it comes to pay, pensions, and working and living conditions, according to Iran International.

Nurses have been protesting throughout Iran for months complaining of poor pay and bad working conditions, saying "Enough with the promises, our table is empty." Pensioners meanwhile are complaining that their stipends are not being paid and regulations enforced.

Iran has been suffering economically for a while, now, with the government deficit growing and with the IMF predicting that the country's economic straits are expected to persist and even worsen.

None of this has stopped Iran's continued funding of multiple proxy armies around the region at great cost, all while citizens feel the pinch of inflation and insufficiently paid or unpaid benefits and pay at home.
