It was permitted for publication today (Sunday) that the person arrested in the classified documents case is Eli Feldstein, a spokesperson in the Prime Minister's Office.

The following text was also permitted for publication: "The investigation began after significant suspicion arose in the Shin Bet and the IDF, also in light of media reports that classified and sensitive intelligence information was taken from IDF systems and unlawfully removed, raising concerns of severe harm to national security and endangering information sources."

As a result, there could have been a compromise in the ability of the security agencies to achieve the objective of releasing the hostages, as part of the war's goals. Following the aforementioned, a combined covert investigation by the Shin Bet, IDF, and Israel Police was initiated, during which the aforementioned suspicions were significantly strengthened.

Accordingly, an open investigation was launched, during which four detainees involved in the activity have been interrogated so far, some of whom are security system officials and a civilian named Mr. Eliezer Feldstein. The investigation is currently underway and is being conducted according to the law and under judicial supervision. Any further publication regarding the investigation may harm the investigation, its objectives, and the security of the state.
