The charges were filed Thursday morning in the Tel Aviv District Court, accusing Weiss, a Bnei Brak resident, of collaborating with Iranian operatives to track an Israeli nuclear scientist with the intent of facilitating his assassination.
Weiss is charged with contacting a foreign agent, sharing information with Israel's adversaries, and interfering in legal proceedings. According to the indictment, he worked as an agent for one month, coordinating with an Iranian operative and performing various tasks that endangered Israel's security.
Under the guidance of the Iranian operative, Weiss used a GoPro camera to record the home and vehicle of the unnamed Israeli nuclear scientist, subsequently sending the footage to the operative to assist in the assassination plot. This footage was then forwarded to an individual from Beit Safafa in Jerusalem, who has been charged with carrying out the attack; an indictment was filed last week against this suspect and six others.
The indictment also reveals that Weiss followed the Iranian operative's instructions by setting vehicles on fire, throwing pipes onto Israeli roads, vandalizing property, and distributing hundreds of inciting flyers in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan, which called for civil unrest.
To demonstrate that he completed these tasks, Weiss was required to send videos and photos to the Iranian operative. In total, he received $25,271 in cryptocurrency for his activities.
