Israeli companies scored a victory against the French government today (Wednesday), when the Paris Commercial Court overturned a French official ban on Israeli participation in Euronaval, one of the biggest naval weapons expos in the world, which opens at the start of November.

The court decision said that France's ban "did not meet the European Union's rules of free markets and was contrary to the principles of equality and non-discrimination.

This is the second time a French attempt at excluding Israelis from major French expos was overturned, the first being at the Eurosatory expo earlier this year. This time, however, the decision came in time for companies to be able to participate, whereas the previous court ruling came too late.

French President Macron has been ramping up his criticism of Israel in the past few weeks, calling for an arms embargo on Israel and at the very least restricting arms that might be used in Gaza and Lebanon.
