Eliyahu Yossian, Iran

Iran expert: This is Iran's one and only card to play

Eliyahu Yossian, the Iranian-born analyst who served in Israel's elite cyber Unit 8200, responded to Channel 14's question of whether Iran will respond to Israel's recent attack or whether it will try to cover up the damage and thus avoid retaliation.

On the one hand, the Iranians dismiss the attack, citing minimal damage, but on the other hand, there were at least 4 military deaths and the regime is threating imprisonment of up to 10 years for anyone who distributes pictures of the damage.

Yossian rejects the theory that Iran willingly suffered the disgrace and sacrificed its air defense system so that in the next Israeli attack, it could surprise it with a more sophisticated response.

"Iran does not have a sophisticated anti-aircraft system, it doesn't have a sophisticated navy, nor does it have powerful ground forces. The only card that Iran has to play with is the enormous amount of ballistic missiles it produces."

Yossian concluded by stating that "if we sign a peace deal with the Saudis, within the framework of the Abraham accords, Israel will be sitting on Iran's border whereas they won't be sitting on Israel's. The main thing now is to not go for a ceasefire and to continue hitting Hamas and Hezbollah hard, and of course to hold on to land seized."
