The body of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was transferred to a secret location following the completion of an autopsy. The procedure was carried out at the National Center of Forensic Medicine (Abu Kabir) after the body was brought there on Thursday evening.

Authorities believe Sinwar's corpse could become a key bargaining chip in negotiations to secure the release of 101 Israeli hostages who have been held in Gaza since October 7, 2023. The autopsy revealed that Sinwar died from a gunshot wound to the head, with additional damage from missile shelling also found on his body.

Sinwar weighed approximately 70 kilograms at the time of his death, suggesting he was not malnourished. Results from the toxicology report are still pending.
