The Israeli Air Force has not carried out strikes in Beirut for the past four days, following orders from the political leadership.

Kan 11 News reported Monday evening that this directive was issued in writing on Friday morning, after a rare strike on western Beirut, which resulted in dozens of casualties.

According to the report, ministers in the Security Cabinet were left out of the decision-making process to halt attacks in the Lebanese capital. Cabinet sources revealed that the decision was not raised for approval in recent meetings and that they first learned of it through media reports.

These sources indicated that if the strikes in Beirut are not resumed, ministers will demand explanations from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the defense establishment during the next Cabinet meeting.

Earlier Monday, Netanyahu addressed the reports about the halt on Beirut strikes, stating, “We will continue to strike Hezbollah mercilessly across Lebanon, including Beirut.”

Additionally, a senior Israeli official commented on the situation, asserting, "Israel targets all areas of Lebanon, including Beirut. We have demonstrated this recently and will continue to do so in the coming days, based on operational considerations."

As well they should be. Plenty of senior terrorists and key strategic targets still intact.
