The European Union approved sanctions today (Monday) against Iranian individuals and entities for transferring military technology and weapons to Russia for use against Ukraine, according to Iran International.

The sanctions apply to multiple senior Iranian officials as well as three Iranian airlines - Saha Airlines, Mahan Air, and Iran Air - as well as companies involved in rocket propellants and other missile components.

The sanctions involve travel bans, asset freezes and transaction restrictions on all individuals and entities involved.

Iran had condemned the initial threat of sanctions as "economic terrorism" and a distraction from the war in Gaza.
