Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, took to X/Twitter on Monday to assert that Hamas's cross-border attacks in southern Israel on October 7 of last year have set the country back by 70 years.

"Operation Al-Aqsa Flood set the Zionist regime 70 years back," Khamenei wrote in Hebrew, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the massacre as Israel began its commemorative events at 6:29 a.m.

In response, Israel's Diaspora Affairs and Combatting Antisemitism Minister, Amichai Chikli, commented on Khamenei's post in Farsi, highlighting the plight of Gaza’s citizens. "It's amazing to see how much progress the operation has made for the people of Gaza," he noted, sharing a video that purportedly depicts the challenging conditions in the Gaza Strip.
