France warns Israel: Don't attack Iran's nuclear core

After the Iranian attack in which 201 ballistic missiles were fired at Israel, the French foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barreau warned Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

After visiting Beirut to further a ceasefire proposal, the French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barreau is due to arrive in Israel this week. This is part of efforts by the West to curtail Israel's retaliatory attack to Iran, and also to limit Israel's ground invasion of Lebanon, as reported by Channel 12.

The newly appointed Barreau had a conversation with Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz, in which he called on Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear facilities in its counter attack.

According to the report, Katz said that Iran's attack was brutal and that Israel needs to respond, but that it would find the correct way in which to deter Iran from further aggression.

Barreau countered that Iran passed on a message to France, in which it said that its attack had been calculated.

According to him, France is concerned that if Israel attacks Iran's nukes, it will cause further aggression and escalation by Iran. Therefore, although France acknowledges Israel's right to respond, it would be wise to do it in a way that does not cause further escalation.

Katz responded, "I don't want to imagine what France would do if its neighbor fired 200 ballistic missiles on Paris and France. I invite France to coordinate with Israel and take part in its counter attack against Iran."
