IDF sources informed Ynet tonight (Tuesday) that the Air Force is at full readiness and that it plans to strike "in the Middle East," possibly as part of a counterattack for the hundreds of missiles fired by Iran against Israel an hour ago.
IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said previously that the IDF has plans for retaliating against Iran and that the IDF will act upon those plans, even saying that he would be with Israeli citizens throughout the night to keep them updated.
Meanwhile, in a sign of the expanding IDF military operations across the northern border, the IDF Northern Command commander has now signed an order defining the areas of Tzivon, Malkia, and Dovev as closed military zones.
The IDF now has a closed military zone stretching from the Galilee Panhandle to Dovev within which to operate against Hezbollah across the border and to which civilians have no access without explicit IDF permission.
Meanwhile, the IDF Spokesperson announced today that the IDF is now calling up no fewer than four reserve brigades and "additional forces" for operational missions in the northern sector.
The IDF said that this callup would allow the continued effort against Hezbollah and the achievement of the goals of the war, including returning the northern residents safely to their homes.
