UNPRECEDENTED MOVE: Rambam Hospital transfers all patients to underground facility

For the first time, Rambam Hospital is transferring all patients to its underground hospital for continued treatment. Professor Halbertal, the hospital director, states: "While transferring patients, for emergencies, do not hesitate to come in. The emergency room continues to operate."

The heavy barrages from the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon have caused hospitals in northern Israel to enter emergency mode.

Rambam Hospital, Northern Medical Center (Poriya), HaEmek, and Bnai Zion announced this morning (Sunday) that non-urgent surgeries and treatments will be postponed to a later date.

The Ministry of Health updated that due to the security situation, Carmel, Ziv, Nahariya, HaEmek, Poriya, Italian, and English hospitals will operate in protected areas.

Rambam Hospital is preparing to transfer all patients to the underground hospital (a fortified facility designed to continue operations during emergencies) within the next 12 hours, while Carmel Medical Center has begun discharging patients.

This is in response to Home Front Command's instructions to prepare for Alert Level 3 (Orange Alert).

This is what Professor Miki Halbertal, Director of Rambam Hospital said, "In light of the escalation in the north, following Home Front Command instructions, the hospital is preparing to deal with Alert Level 3, Orange Alert. For the first time, the entire hospital is moving to the protected underground facility. We expect that in the next 12 hours, the entire hospital will be transferred to the protected hospital.

Currently, elective procedures are being suspended to allow for the transfer of patients who need to be hospitalized, while patients who can be discharged will be released.

The process is complex, but we have gained expertise and will overcome this as well.

Later, according to the Ministry of Health's decision, we will consider admitting patients from Carmel Hospital and Prima Hospital. Dialysis patients will also be directed to receive treatment in the protected hospital.

Patients who feel they are in an emergency should not hesitate to come to the emergency room. We are operating as usual."
