Hamas response, Israel Hostage deal, Sinwar, Negotiations

This is how Hamas Responded to Israel's Hostage Proposal

Senior Hamas official Razi Hamad has reacted to reports that Israel proposed the release of all hostages in exchange for the safe passage of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and anyone else who wishes to leave Gaza.

In an interview with Al-Arabi Al-Jadid, Hamad reiterated the organization's refusal of any deal and accused Israel of making a "ridiculous" offer regarding Sinwar's exit, stating, "The negotiations are stalled due to the insistence of the Israeli position."

In recent days, Israel provided the United States with a framework for a new hostage release deal, which includes the release of all hostages in one go in exchange for Sinwar's safe passage out of Gaza.

According to a report by Suleiman Maswada on Kan 11, the proposal will also include the demilitarization of Gaza, the implementation of a different control mechanism in the territory, the release of Palestinian prisoners, and an end to the war. The current framework was presented to the families of the hostages during a meeting with Gal Hirsch, the coordinator for captives and missing persons, who updated them on the new proposal sent to the Americans last week. Hirsch referred to the proposal as the "safe passage deal."

A senior Israeli official commented on the matter to Kan 11, saying, "In light of the difficulties in the negotiations and the ticking clock on the lives of the hostages, we seek to propose a 'Plan B' that shortens the steps and allows for a quicker deal. This will happen if Sinwar exits and brings an end to the war. It will also enable us to achieve our war objectives while allowing Hamas leadership in Gaza to leave safely."
