This evening, Gallant conducted a systematic review of various options for the ongoing campaign against Hezbollah along the northern border, aimed at achieving the goal of returning residents of the north to their homes following a change in the security situation.
At the outset of the discussion, Gallant said, "In recent days, we have been conducting a series of important discussions. This is a new stage in the war, with significant opportunities but also serious risks." He noted, "Hezbollah is feeling a sense of persecution, and our continuous military operations will continue. Our goal is to safely return the residents of the north to their homes. As time goes on, Hezbollah will pay an increasing price." Gallant did not overlook the southern front, adding, "At the same time, we will continue our efforts to bring the hostages home and dismantle Hamas."
The meeting included Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, Defense Ministry Director General Major General (Res.) Eyal Zamir, Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Amir Baram, Head of the Operations Division Major General Oded Basiuk, Head of Military Intelligence Major General Shlomi Binder, Head of the Home Front Command Major General Eliezer Toledano, Head of the Security Division Brigadier General (Res.) Dror Shalom, Research Branch Head Brigadier General Ofir Mizrahi-Rosen, Deputy Head of the Shin Bet, and senior officials from the Mossad.
