Reuters reports that an analysis of German government data and a source within the German Economy Ministry shows that Germany has put a halt on new arms licenses to Israel pending legal challenges to arms sales to Israel in various courts on grounds of violation of humanitarian law.
Britain has already decided to suspend some of the arms licenses slated for Israel on the grounds of such weapons possibly violating international law, and a Dutch court ordered the suspension of F-35 jet parts on the same grounds.
That said, no court case against German sales of arms to Israel has yet to actually succeed in court, according to Reuters, so it remains to be seen whether this is simply a temporary decision or a real change in policy.
