The Lebanese Health Ministry reports at least nine dead and 300 wounded from the mass explosion of Hezbollah walkie talkies throughout Lebanon a few hours ago (Wednesday).

This number, which may go up, can be added to the almost three thousand wounded and 12 dead from the mass pager explosion throughout Lebanon and Syria which took place yesterday.

With thousands of pagers and walkie talkies exploding in the pockets, hands, faces, and vehicles of thousands of Hezbollah members, Hezbollah is now issuing safety instructions on its media channels to prevent further injury.

According to the warning, reported by Doron Kadosh of Army Radio, "all cellular and electronic devices recently imported should be checked to ensure they are not booby-trapped. The batteries of every wireless technological device should be temporarily unplugged."

Security sources speaking to Reuters said that the walkie talkies which exploded today were acquired around the same time as the pagers, all part of an effort to reduce reliance on cellphones, whose location finding technology was enabling the IDF to find and locate terrorists at will.

According to Axios, both the pagers and the walkie talkies were meant to be part of an emergency system for the terrorist group in the event of a wider war with Israel.

The Israeli government continues to maintain complete radio silence on both incidents, not releasing even laconic statements about the possibly escalating situation.
