Hezbollah is in shock: "Israel has pushed us to abandon the traditional rules of war, we are facing a new situation"

Here's what Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar (Hezbollah's mouthpiece) wrote about yesterday's attack.

The editor of the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, Ibrahim Al-Amin, accused Israel of carrying out "the largest security operation since the beginning of the conflict" with the detonation of pagers.

He warned: "We will exact a price, the response will be symmetrical." Nasrallah is expected to speak tomorrow at 17:00 and respond to the humiliation. "The pager massacre changes the rules of engagement," according to Lebanese press coverage.

Al-Akhbar's front page today features an image of a mobile phone with the headline: "Killing Without Rules." In a special column, the editor admits that Hezbollah suffered "the most severe blow" and promises a response.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah is expected to speak tomorrow at 17:00 to address recent developments.

The Lebanese Health Minister updated that the number of injured in Lebanon has risen to about 3,000, with many injuries to faces and hands.

Al-Amin, considered close to Hezbollah wrote this article "Israel carried out the largest security operation since the beginning of the conflict: Have the doors opened to a war without rules or boundaries?"

He stated that "Within one minute, the enemy managed to inflict the worst on Hezbollah's body since the beginning of the conflict, in an exceptional security operation, in terms of the ability to reach targets and means, and to demonstrate Israeli technological and intelligence superiority."

Al-Amin claimed that Israel's action proves it "no longer wants to adhere to the rules of engagement that prevent approaching civilians or civilian facilities, and that it no longer distinguishes between a fighter on the front and a Hezbollah employee in a remote office."

Regarding Hezbollah's response, he clarified: "Considering the magnitude of what happened, and regardless of the thirst for a big and resounding response, Hezbollah will not surrender to sentimentality. But the enemy knows well that it has pushed Hezbollah, once, to abandon the traditional rules of war that have existed for a year, and that we are facing a new situation."

He concluded by saying that "what happened proves the need for logic and courage, but it may open the door to some madness, which sometimes helps in arousing the senses of those who no longer have any kind of feeling!"

Hezbollah issued a statement this morning, emphasizing that it "will continue its actions to assist Gaza and protect Lebanon, its people, and sovereignty. The enemy should wait for the harsh account of the massacre it committed, it's another account that will come."
