On Wednesday, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant visited the AMISHT unit – Document Collection and Technical Salvage – at one of the IDF Intelligence Division's bases in central Israel. There, he unveiled a document written by Ra'afat Salama, the former commander of Khan Younis, to the Sinwar brothers. Salama, who was killed in July, describes the severe condition of the Hamas terror organization.
"I want to show you here from the IDF intelligence base a letter that reflects what Hamas leaders are saying about their situation," Gallant said. "This is a letter written by Ra'afat Salama, who was killed by us in July, to the Sinwar brothers. He describes the situation — 70% of the weapons have been destroyed, 95% of the rockets have been destroyed, 50% of the terrorists have been killed or injured, and many have fled, leaving them with only 20% according to him. This is real distress impacting Hamas and reaching the highest commanders."
"He is pleading for the help of the Sinwar brothers, but they obviously cannot save him. Why? Because we continue the effort that started in October, progressing step by step, reaching all the senior Hamas leaders. This is what he wrote to the Sinwar brothers, and we will reach them too."
