Hamas rocket fire has dropped significantly from about 60 in July and August to just three in the past two and a half weeks. According to N12 News, the IDF thinks this is due to a new response policy towards rockets.

Put simply: any time a rocket is fired - even if one single rocket from an open area, let alone a salvo - the IDF clears out the neighborhood or area where it was fired and levels all terrorist infrastructure in the area. This is a new policy ordered by Southern Command Commander Yaron Finkelman.

In addition, the IDF has destroyed over 900 rocket launch pits since the war started, including more than 50 since July.

Residents forced to constantly pack up and move every time a rocket is fired are also getting fed up, and there are known cases where Gazans physically attack terrorists trying to fire rockets from their neighborhood.
