IDF Reports, Gaza Humanitarian Ceasefire

Despite Denials: IDF Agrees to Humanitarian Ceasefire in Gaza

Following reports that the IDF will implement a humanitarian ceasefire and the Prime Minister's Office's denial of the report, Reuters is now reporting that the IDF has approved such a ceasefire for three days in three different areas.

A senior official from the World Health Organization told Reuters that the IDF has agreed to humanitarian ceasefires in three areas of the Gaza Strip, each lasting three days. According to the official, the IDF has agreed to a ceasefire on Wednesday in each area, if necessary.

The organization added that the ceasefire is intended to start vaccinating the Gaza population.

Yesterday, following a report on Channel 13 that the IDF would conduct a humanitarian ceasefire for polio vaccinations for the civilian population in Gaza, the Prime Minister's Office stated that the report was false. The statement read: "The report on Channel 13 about Israel agreeing to ceasefires in Gaza is false. It is not a ceasefire for polio vaccinations, but rather only the allocation of specific areas in the Strip. Additionally, this was presented to the Cabinet and received the support of professional officials."
