Khalil al-Maqdah, a senior commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, was reportedly killed in a targeted strike on his vehicle in Sidon, southern Lebanon, according to Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen on Wednesday.

Al-Maqdah, identified as a brigadier general in the militant wing of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a Palestinian faction with strong ties to Fatah, was reportedly involved in significant resistance activities. His brother, Munir al-Maqdah, also a commander in the brigade, stated, "We are on the path to victory or martyrdom, and assassinations only make us stronger." He further emphasized that "Martyrdom is a badge of honor, and the resistance remains resolute."

Al-Mayadeen’s correspondent noted that Khalil al-Maqdah played a crucial role in the resistance efforts. Israeli media sources suggest that he was also a Quds Force operative within the IRGC.

Lebanese MP Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri remarked that such attacks would only bolster Sidon's support for the Palestinian cause.
