The US State Department announced today (Tuesday) that Qatar gave assurances it would pressure Hamas to attend the planned hostage negotiation summit in Doha this week, after having previously refused to do so, according to reporting by Ynet.

Prime Minister Netanyahu announced shortly after the announcement on the summit that it would be sending Israel's negotiation team to attend and take part.
