Iran, Retaliatory Attack

Why Iran has not attacked yet: Here's what we know

Iranian threat looms: Israel braces for an unprecedented attack, while Defense Minister Gallant issues a stern caution to Iran.

Israeli officials believe Iran is planning an attack on Israel that could be more extensive than the one in April, despite international diplomatic pressure, according to a report by Kan News yesterday (Sunday).

The defense establishment reportedly understands that Iran has renewed its threats following the elimination of Ismail Haniyeh.

However, several factors have delayed the potential attack:

1. Security breaches: A source familiar with the situation stated that Tehran is firstly addressing security vulnerabilities that led to Haniyeh's demise, before it launches its retaliatory attack.
2. U.S. military presence: The source cited the presence of U.S. forces in the region as another factor in the delay.
3. Diplomatic efforts: An Iranian delegation arrived in Russia on Sunday for meetings, suggesting ongoing diplomatic activities.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah members have indicated to diplomatic sources their intention to attack, though they claim to have no interest in escalation.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated, "At the moment, there are no changes to the Home Front Command guidelines. If there is a change, we will update through official channels."

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant issued a stern warning, saying, "I hope that they will think this through and won’t ... force us to cause significant damage and increase the chances of war breaking out on additional fronts. We do not want this, but we must be prepared ... for a more complex reality, even if it is not what we desire."

The situation remains tense as regional dynamics continue to evolve, with both sides seemingly poised for potential conflict while diplomatic efforts persist in the background.
