After Al-Jazeera: Government approves banning of Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen network

The government has approved the proposal of Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi to ban the channel from Israeli soil, including orders to confiscate their equipment and block access to their websites.

The government approved the proposal of Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi today (Sunday) to shut down the operations of the Lebanese TV channel Al-Mayadeen, which is identified with Hezbollah. Following this approval, Karhi signed orders to confiscate the equipment and block the website belonging to the channel.

It should be noted that these orders were sent out at the beginning of the war and that the channel's reporters were nowhere to be seen in Israel. However, two weeks ago, they reappeared to cover the Hezbollah attack on Majdal Shams, which led to the death of 12 children.

As a result, the minister presented the orders he signed to be approved by the government, after receiving the opinion of defense bodies and the consent of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
