In his comments today (Wednesday), Foreign Minister Israel Katz discussed the appointment of Yahya Sinwar as the new head of Hamas’s political bureau, replacing Ismail Haniyeh. He emphasized that this choice should serve as a message to the world. "Without Israeli action, Gaza will return to complete Hamas control."
Minister Katz began by saying: "The choice of Yahya Sinwar as the leader of Hamas must send a clear message to the world that the Palestinian issue is currently entirely under the control of Iran and Hamas. Without Israeli activity in Gaza, Gaza will revert to complete Hamas control. Even in Judea and Samaria, Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority survive only due to the extensive military operations of Israel against Hamas and Islamic Jihad infrastructures, which are supported and promoted by Iran."
He added: "Another Iranian stronghold in the region will explode in the world's face and in the faces of all the countries in the region."
In conclusion, Katz clarified: "The world must see the reality as it is and support Israel, which is currently at the forefront of the fight against the evil Iranian Axis and extremist Islam."
