The New York Times reports today (Tuesday) that a senior American official, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the draft ceasefire agreement already includes protection mechanisms enabling Israel to withdraw from the agreement if Hamas breaches its terms. However, the official declined to comment on the possibility of President Biden providing a written guarantee to support the resumption of hostilities by Israel in case of a Hamas violation of the ceasefire.

These details reveal that the provisions in the draft ceasefire agreement include favourable terms for Israel and will safeguard the IDF's interests in the fight against Hamas, even during the ceasefire.
