The man behind the devastating attack in Holon on Sunday morning, which left two people dead and two injured, has been identified as Omar Razak Kamel Odeh, a 34 year-old resident of Salfit in Samaria.

Preliminary police investigations reveal that Odeh entered Israel illegally through the Hizme crossing three days prior to the attack. He was living in the country without an entry or work permit. Authorities are currently tracing his movements since his entry into Israel and examining suspicions that he might have been working illegally in the vicinity of the attack site.

Investigators are also exploring the possibility that Odeh initially intended to execute a larger-scale assault. It is suspected that he planned to target soldiers and passengers near the Holon train station but carried out his attack sooner than planned.

At noon, soldiers from the Ephraim Brigade began preparations to demolish Odeh's residence as part of ongoing security measures. Authorities are also probing the potential involvement of accomplices who may have assisted him.

Current information indicates that Odeh was not affiliated with any known terrorist organization. However, he had a criminal history related to drug offenses and had served multiple prison sentences. Following the attack, the IDF has closed the entrance to Salfit.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the attack during a cabinet meeting, vowing retaliation against anyone who aided the terrorist. He also commended the police for their swift response, which led to Odeh's elimination.
