Hezbollah leaders have retreated into secrecy ahead of Israel's response to the massacre in Majdal Shams, where 11 children were killed by Hezbollah's rocket fire, Lebanese media reported. IDF spokesperson, Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, made a special statement to the media following the deadly rocket attack in Majdal Shams that claimed the lives of 10 teenagers.

Brigadier General Hagari began by revealing: "The victims were all children aged 10 to 20. We extend our condolences to the families and embrace the Druze community. Initial investigations suggest that there was a very short warning before the attack, and according to the Air Force's report, it was a single rocket."

He further explained: "In recent hours, the Defence Minister and Chief of Staff have been holding situation assessments with the heads of the Mossad and Shin Bet. As of now, there is no change in the Home Front Command's directives."

Subsequently, Hagari criticized Hezbollah, stating: "In recent hours, Hezbollah has been lying and denying responsibility for the incident. Our intelligence is clear; Hezbollah is responsible for the murder of innocent children. This is a very serious event, and we will act accordingly." According to Hagari: "This is a very grave incident, a severe disaster, the worst civilian casualty event since October 7th. We will make decisions in coordination with the political echelon and act accordingly."

Hagari reiterated his message in English for the international audience, emphasizing that there will be a heavy price for Hezbollah’s actions.
