About 138,669 dunams of natural territory have been burned in the north since the beginning of 2024, an area three times the size of the city of Tel Aviv, according to Calcalist.

The numbers include nature reserves, national parks, forests, and open areas. A substantial portion of these fires were caused by Hezbollah projectiles such as rockets and explosive drones.

The Director of the Northern area for JNF said it could take 30-40 years to restore the forests and nature reserves to their prewar state.
