Axios reports that the Biden administration is evaluating potential sanctions against Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Citing three US officials, the report suggests that the ministers are seen as responsible for the ongoing unrest and security problems in Judea and Samaria.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has issued a warning that Israel will "completely dismantle the Palestinian Authority, along with its institutions and economy," should the Biden administration impose sanctions on Israeli ministers."

Minister Ben-Gvir stated, "The report that the Biden administration is considering imposing sanctions on me and the Finance Minister is serious. The very act of imposing sanctions on Israeli citizens by the American administration, which has already begun, constitutes a severe violation of Israeli sovereignty."
