Israeli air defense forces intercepted early this morning (Sunday) a surface-to-surface missile that made its way from Yemen towards Israel. The Arrow 3 missile defense system morning was used and the missile did not cross into the country.
A siren was triggered following a fear of falling interceptor fragments in the area. There were no casualties in the incident.
Residents in Eilat reported an interceptor seen in the sky of the city as well as the echoes of explosions in the area.
The IDF announced that no interceptor had been launched and there was no security incident: "A short time ago, reports were received of the echoes of explosions in the area of the city of Eilat. From an investigation conducted it appears that no shots were fired into the area of the city and likewise, no interceptor was launched."
