The Knesset approved: the sale of medicines outside pharmacies

This morning the health committee approved the sale of a series of types of medicine outside of pharmacies, and by private businesses such as containers that will be approved to sell medicines.

The Knesset's Health Committee approved a series of regulations today, which will allow businesses to start selling medicines without an on-site pharmacy.

According to the decision of the Knesset's Health Committee, a number of types of medicines and treatments were approved for sale in private and commercial businesses, removing the requirement for the sale of this type of medicine in pharmacies only.

According to the committee's decision, medicines for severe pain, as well as medicines for heartburn, ointment for treating wounds, relief from herpes and medicines for stomach problems will be allowed to be sold in any business approved by the appropriate authorities, without the need for the presence of a pharmacist or a dedicated pharmacy in the business.
