The Israeli negotiating team is discussing with Egyptian mediators as part of ceasefire negotiations on the possibility of installing an electronic tracking system along the border between Gaza and Egypt instead of deploying IDF soldiers in the area, if a ceasefire is achieved.
Two Egyptian sources and another informed party briefed Reuters on these details. The discussions come against the backdrop of Israel's concerns about Hamas infiltrations in the area, while on the other hand, Hamas opposes the deployment of Israeli soldiers along the border, as reported by Reuters.
It should be noted that ceasefire negotiations are ongoing, but controlling the crossings appears to be the sticking point in the negotiations.
