A 60-year-old Russian tourist was killed early this morning (Monday) in a car accident between two vehicles on Route 412 near Beit Dagan, near Rishon LeZion.
The police began investigating the accident, and announced that they had arrested an undocumented immigrant from Ramallah who is suspected of causing the accident after he apparently stole a car from Rehovot. He was taken to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer with multiple systemic injuries, and is in moderate to serious condition.
Gal Salhov, a medic from the MDA motorcycle unit, said, "When we arrived at the scene, we saw two crushed vehicles with one of them upside down on the roof. A woman in her sixties was trapped in the overturned vehicle, she was unconscious. We gave her medical treatment while extricating her from the vehicle and performed resuscitation operations, at the end of which we had to determine her death."
