Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant are increasingly at odds over the latest Hamas proposal for moving ahead with the hostage deal, according to Channel 12 reporter Amit Segal.
Netanyahu has reportedly shut Gallant out of meetings regarding the hostage deal and has told Gallant that he would only be brought in "when it's all cooked." Netanyahu also reportedly told Gallant during a heated meeting that "You're not the Prime Minister."
According to Segal, the two are divided on core details of the proposed deal. Gallant is more optimistic about the deal and even told families of hostages that "a deal is closer than ever."
For his part, Netanyahu believes Hamas inserted a number of unacceptable poison pills such as allowing a return to Gaza City without any guarantee of Hamas not going back with the civilian population.
