In a somber ceremony yesterday (Sunday), the widow of Arnon Zamora, Mrs. Michal Zamora, bid her final farewell to her beloved husband at his funeral. Special Forces officer Arnon Zamora was killed in battle in a special forces operation in Gaza where four Israeli hostages were rescued by the IDF.

Mrs. Zamora spoke of Arnon's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. With tears in her eyes, Michal eulogized her husband, saying, "Everything is now filled with the image of the late hero Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora. But long before he was a warrior and hero he was a sweet man. An amazing partner, and a perfect father. A loving and beloved man. That's how we'll remember him, and I'd love for you to, too. ... My darling [Arnon], when all is said and done, me and the children will be OK. It’s my job now to hold them. It was my job to hold you as well, but now that job has changed, and instead I’ll hold onto your memory.”

Despite the overwhelming sense of loss felt by those in attendance, there was also a palpable sense of unity and support as the community came together to honor the memory of an Israeli hero, a beloved husband, father, and friend.

The funeral of Arnon Zmora was a poignant reminder of the preciousness of life and the strength of love in the face of loss. As Mrs. Zmora bid her final farewell to her husband, she did so with grace, dignity, and a deep sense of love that will endure long after the tears have dried.
