Twelve Likud MKs led by Economy Minister Nir Barkat sent a letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu today (Tuesday), demanding Israel not hand over control over the Rafah crossing to a Palestinian party, according to Channel 12 reporter and commentator Amit Segal.

The latter slammed the support of Gantz and Eizenkot, both centrist members of the war cabinet, for handing over the crossing to local Palestinian parties under international supervision as a "dangerous fantasy."

"There is no victory without control," the letter goes on to say, "We cannot defeat Hamas without fully controlling the border crossings and the sources of energy and aid."

The letter ends by calling on Netanyahu to "block all these dangerous initiatives," and to make it clear that the entire Philadelphi Corridor, including the Rafah crossing, would remain entirely under IDF control.
