Number of killed from October 7 and the war now more than 1,500

Israel's Public Diplomacy Directorate published data summarizing 223 days of fighting in the north and south, including the dead - over 800 civilians and 600 IDF soldiers.

Israel's Public Diplomacy Directorate published data today (Thursday) summarizing 223 days of fighting in the north and south.

According to the data, since October 7, over 16,600 rockets have been fired towards Israel (including ones which fell short or fell in the sea), including over 12,000 launches from Gaza and over 4,600 launches from the north (Lebanon and Syria).

The highest number of sirens was registered in Ashkelon, with 280 shelter warnings, followed by Nir Am, Ibim, and Sderot. Kiryat Shmonah, which had 150 siren warnings, is the town with the highest number of warnings in the north, while being ranked 5th nationally.

The numbers also include the number of those murdered on October 7 and killed in the Swords of Iron war - 1,526 people. So far, more than 1,200 murdered on October 7 have been identified - including 803 civilians and 314 IDF soldiers, as well as 61 police officers, 10 Shin Bet officers, and 5 firefighters. Since the beginning of the war following the massacre, 278 IDF soldiers have fallen.

According to the National Insurance Institute, the number of civilians killed now stands at 822 - 531 men and 291 women. 40 of those murdered were minors, and 68 were foreign citizens.

36 hostages are no longer alive and are still being held by Hamas in Gaza, including 8 soldiers, a police officer, and a Tanzanian citizen. 9 of the hostages were murdered by terrorist organizations in Gaza and were extracted by IDF soldiers.

Regarding the number of wounded: the National Insurance Institute reports some 62,000 citizens have been recognized as victims of terror attacks. According to the Health Ministry, 15,528 wounded have been evacuated to the hospital, 14,480 of whom were physically injured.

3,419 soldiers have been wounded since the beginning of the war, of whom 1,712 were wounded within the Gaza Strip, as well as 253 soldiers wounded since the war started.
