Israel-Gaza War, Memorial Day

IDF destroys Hamas monument to victory over Gush Katif in Rafah

As the IDF continues to advance into Rafah, forces entered the city and damaged the monument erected in honor of the "victory" over the uprooted Jewish settlements.

The IDF destroyed the resistance monument in Rafah, dedicated in 2016 on the anniversary of the uprooting of the Jewish settlements in Gaza. The monument, with its statue of an iron fist and armed men guarding it, now appears abandoned and smashed.

Despite the world's opposition to the operation in Rafah, the IDF Spokesperson in Arabic said yesterday (Saturday) that residents of additional areas in eastern Rafah must leave the city, and fliers were dropped in many areas, including the refugee camp where Fernando and Louis were rescued some time ago.
