Immediately after the Eurovision final last night (Saturday) in Malmö, Israeli singer Eden Golan, who finished in 5th place, took off on a direct El Al flight to Israel and landed this morning (Sunday). "Just don't cry now," were the first words she uttered when she got off the plane.

"It was a huge privilege to represent our country, especially in times like this, and the whole nation stood behind me," Golan said. "I felt your love and support. You don't understand how much it helped me and how much it gave me strength."

Golan thanked everyone who stood behind her on her journey to Eurovision, and did not leave out the security personnel who watched her back throughout the previous week.

"The fact that I represented Israel, it was our voice as a country and of all the hostages that need to be returned home. The Israeli representative also referred to the upcoming Memorial Day of Israel's Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror: "Today is a sad day and we remember all the souls who have gone and simply thank you," she was quoted as saying.
