Over half a year since the war began, Israel is starting to look into plans for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip after Hamas is defeated, with the National Security Council preparing to present such a plan to the war cabinet soon.
According to reporter Suleiman Maswadah at Kann 11 News, these are the main points of the plan: Israeli civilian control of half a year to a year from the end of the war, with the provision of services to Gazan residents coming from Arab private companies. After this temporary transition period, the Strip will be regularly run by local parties not hostile to Israel.
Meanwhile, last Friday, the UN General Assembly voted by a large majority to grant the Palestinian Authority the same authorities as that of every other member state. 143 states voted for, while nine - including the US, Argentina, and Hungary - voted against, and 25 abstained. Ambassador Gilad Erdan strongly criticized the decision.
