The IDF announced last night (Saturday night) that they have begun an offensive against Hamas in the Jebaliya area, with Palestinian sources reporting dozens of structures destroyed in the area.

The IDF identified recent attempts by Hamas to act in an organized manner in Jebaliya, including concentrating terrorists and weapons in the area. The raid is aimed at disrupting and dismantling this effort.

The IDF informed civilians in large swathes of Jebaliya that they must evacuate, with the number of civilians in this area estimated at between 100 and 150,000 people.

The IDF has already stated that "even when we leave Zeitoun and Jebaliya and complete the operation in Rafah, Hamas infrastructures will remain and terror will remain and we will have to go back there and operate again."
