Israel-Gaza War, United States

Gallant responds to Biden's embargo of weapons for Rafah: "We will hit Hamas, we will hit Hezbollah, and we will achieve security"

At a ceremony for Israel's fallen, the Defense Minister said "I turn to Israel’s enemies as well as to our best of friends and say - the State of Israel cannot be subdued."

The Defense Minister spoke this morning (Thursday) at a memorial ceremony for Israel's fallen and victims of terrorism, where he addressed President Biden's threat to cut off military aid if Israel moves on Rafah.

First, he addressed the war itself: "We have no choice, we have no other country. We will do whatever is necessary, and I repeat - whatever is necessary, in order to defend the citizens of Israel, to remove the evil threats against us, and to stand up to those who attempt to destroy us."

Then he addressed Israel's allies, including Biden: "I turn to Israel’s enemies as well as to our best of friends and say - the State of Israel cannot be subdued, not the IDF, not the defense establishment, and not the State of Israel. We will stand strong, we will achieve our goals - we will hit Hamas, we will hit Hezbollah, and we will achieve security."

Former President Donald Trump referred to Biden's announcement that he would not provide weapons to Israel if it orders a large-scale entry into Rafah, claiming that the weapons are used to kill innocent civilians.

"Crooked Joe Biden, whether he knows it or not, said he would withhold weapons from Israel while they fight to eradicate Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Hamas has murdered thousands of innocent civilians, including babies, and is still holding Americans hostage, if at all the abductees are still alive."

Biden's statement regarding an embargo on Israel provoked numerous reactions, including MK Itamar Ben Gvir writing that: Biden Loves Hamas, causing a stir in the Knesset.
