Tekuma Authority Director, Brig.-Gen. (res.) Moshe Edri, addressed the rebuilding of the Gaza Perimeter today (Tuesday), as well as the budget and vision of the authority he will lead for the next five years.

In a lecture at the economic conference of the Local Authorities' Treasurers Association, Edri said that it would take at least two years before the residents of kibbutzim near the border could return to their homes.

"Kibbutz Beeri, the center of the earthquake with over a hundred murdered and a great deal of destruction, its people cannot return in the next two three years to the kibbutz," Edri said. "We asked them what solution do you want? You can't stay in the hotel for so long and they themselves don't want to stay there. The kibbutz did a vote; Kibbutz Beeri with some 1200 residents and more than 500 families asked us for rural housing until the rebuilding of the kibbutz until the community is rebuilt."
