According to a report on the Qatari "Al-Araby" news outlet, Egyptian officials and the heads of the Shin Bet and Mossad are discussing various initiatives to bridge the gaps between Israel and Hamas regarding hostage negotiations in exchange for freezing the operation in the southern city of Rafah.

According to the report, a new proposal is being discussed in Cairo. The proposed deal is based on the one brought up at the Paris summit. At the same time, intensive efforts are underway to prevent the IDF from entering Rafah.

Earlier, the war cabinet convened at the security compound in Tel Aviv. Families of hostages and others demonstrated outside, demanding that the cabinet members make the hostages their priority instead of winning the war with Hamas.
