The Ethics Bureau of the Medical Association issued a letter yesterday (Sunday) to hospital managers in Israel, in which it clarifies that despite the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists during the October 7 massacre, it is their duty as doctors to grant them medical care.
According to a report on Channel 12, the letter reads, among other things: "Treatment of every person, including Hamas terrorists, is required and even our duty as doctors. The rules of ethics, international treaties and declarations, and even the law in the State of Israel require that a doctor treat every person regardless of who they are."
It also states that, "the rules of ethics of the Israel Medical Association call for the continuation of medical services during an armed conflict, regardless of the patient's identity. The only consideration facing the doctor is the patient's medical condition."
"Therefore, despite the horrific acts of Hamas terrorists, we as doctors will provide the proper treatment and allow the judicial system to bring them to justice. The Israel Medical Association and the Ethics Bureau fully support your activities in these difficult times and hope for calmer days," reads the letter.
