Following the Supreme Court interim injunction today, some 56,500 yeshivah students will be eligible for the draft and not eligible for government support as those with legal draft deferment status, according to an assessment by Calcalist.
Calcalist added that the court did agree that some 250 institutions which declined below the minimal threshold of budgeting will continue to receive funding for those with legal exemptions. Furthermore, those who received deferments from last year which have not yet expired will also continue to receive funding.
